On June 1, 2023, Cecil Floyd won a liability defense verdict in the case of Altagracia Vargas v. Michael Dolphin in Civil Court, Kings County, Index No.: 300089/2020 before Hon. Heela Capell.  Plaintiff claimed to have sustained personal injuries from a slip-and-fall on ice on the exterior steps of defendant’s premises at 11:00 a.m. on December 31, 2013.  The jury returned a verdict on behalf of defendant within 20 minutes, answering “No” to the question whether there was ice on the steps at the time of the alleged accident.  Had the case proceeded to damages, plaintiff was alleging a fractured wrist, herniated cervical and lumbar discs, a non-surgical tear of the left knee and post-concussion syndrome.
